HIGH SCHOOL GAME (SEASON 1) CHAPTER 13

HIGH SCHOOL GAME (SEASON 1)

CHAPTER 13

MY POINT OF VIEW AFTER WE WERE DISMISSED BY MRS. CATIE

After the dismissal by Mr. Fred, every other person went on with their normal routine but then Emily tapped me calling my attention to Jason and his goons.

“Isn’t he cute?” She said cupping her face with her both hands but instead I rolled my eyes as we continue walking to where I honestly have no idea of.

“Now don’t get me wrong, I am crushing on that bastard son of a man but he is just too pompous for my liking. He feels like the world is at his command and he can order people around as he pleases. I’m waiting for an opportunity to put him in his place.” I said

“What if he ask you out?” Emily questioned and that was what I’ve been fantasizing about. I mean when Jason ask me out, I will be the happiest lady on earth.

Having your crush ask you out is a blessing. Don’t you think so? But it’s Jason, it’s something he will never do.

“I’ve stopped dreaming.” I said and then someone touched my shoulder and when I’ll turn to see who it was, it turned out to be Jason.

The whole hair on my body rose up.

“You’ve been staring at me ever since Mr. Fred was giving his speech. Is there something you want to tell me?” He asked so peacefully but I didn’t even know why I got so pissed off by that question but thank God I was not a violent person so I just maintained my cool.

It was as if we were doing eye contact competition, because we were just looking at each other not until Emily broke into it saying that I do have something to say to him when in reality I had nothing to say to him.

“I’m inviting you over for a drink later tonight. I’ll send you my address.” He said and just left without waiting to hear whether I will accept his invitation or not.

What a nerve!

“I’m inviting you over for a drink later tonight. Blah blah blah. Who the hell does he think he is to even invite me without waiting to hear my reply? Doesn’t he know that I’m a Lady and I deserve some respect? Damn! This is the very reason why I hate guys that are too pompous.”
“I think this is like a semi date!” Emily said trying to tickle me but I pushed her off and then she bumped into Miss Fisher; our Senior Art Teacher who we thought was dating Mr. Greg the volleyball coach.

It’s crazy but those two always act like they were some kind of perfect couple but little did we know that they were actually cousins. Distant cousins though.

“Be careful girls, the ground is rough.” She said helping Emily up. We apologized and then she left after tapping my shoulder. Did I mention that she was very nice to me?

Majority of people said that she used to be a fun person not until her younger sister Vinnie died. And although nobody had known the cause of her death but what we do know was that Vinnie was a member of this school. I don’t know the full details.

“There are some jokes that isn’t funny.” I said to Emily and stormed off but she followed me immediately.

When I got home, I didn’t see anyone at home except Ryo and he was just about to leave the house. He said he had some games to play with his friends whom none of us knew of.

Ryo was so secretive that I began to think that he was into something illegal but what I do love about him was that he was very protective of me and won’t let a finger touch me. He was that loving.

“Bring me a bottle of beer when coming back home.” He said and hung his bag behind him

“As a young adult, you shouldn’t send a teenager like me to get you a beer. That’s not how to train your little sis” I said to him while he just stood still and then began to smile at me without saying a word.

“And besides I’m going to Mom’s boutique not a restaurant or a beer stand.” I said to him and then he turned towards the door but then stopped.

“Don’t dare come back to this house without my beer” he said

“Can’t you just be nice for once huh? (I replied because he’s making it sound as if it’s my job to always buy him alcohol) or should I tell Mom instead?” That was like telling him to go to hell. He gave me a long stare before exiting the room.

I went to my room and took my shower and then I went to Mom’s boutique and when I got there, I saw her arranging some clothes. Mom doesn’t have an employee, she was just the only one there.

I’ve always pleaded with her severally to get someone who’ll be helping her around there but she claimed that she can’t trust anyone aside her family, she runs the boutique alone.

“You’re back from school already? I thought you told me that you’re going to have extra classes today?” She asked me while she continued packing the clothes and then I joined her to pack them into a large sack.

Maybe they were old stocks.

“Mr. Fred cancelled the extra classes today till next week. He said we’ll be having an Inter house sports tomorrow, so he wants us to go relax and come back prepared for the games.” I said and all the while she has been nodding her head as if she actually understood what I was saying.

“And here we are. Done packing.” I said and pushed the sack under the cabinet.

She stared at me for some seconds before going to her table and then I followed shortly.

“But on a serious note, this is too much on you. Get someone already, I won’t be here always.” I said and placed my hands on the table but she ignored me.

“You’ll come seeking for my wisdom.” I said and sat down but she just laughed.

I brought out my phone to play a game when a text message popped on my screen from an anonymous number but when I saw the content I already know who sent it and it was no other person than my unfortunate crush Jason.

“Mom, I’ll be leaving now.” I said getting up.

“Why is that? You just got here.”

“I’m meeting up with a douchebag so I gotta run.” I said and she just kept nodding her head in a funny way but I decided not to pay attention to that.

He sent me the address to his house. I got to the gate of his house and then a gateman opened the gate after I’d knocked at the gate. I asked the gateman that I was looking for Jason and he regarded him as the young boss. Maybe he’s this rich kid that lives alone under the luxury of his parent. What do I know?

On getting to the living room, I saw him chatting with his friends but when he saw me he smiled and walked up to me.

“I like it that you don’t disappoint.” He said but it was almost like a whisper.

“I’m just not a coward.” I replied

Am I? Because honestly, I don’t know why I was there.

What in God’s name was I even doing there in the first place? Did he use something on me? What if something really bad happened to me here? What if he kills me or do worst? What are you thinking Star? I cautioned myself because all that and more were the thoughts running through my head but I had to be brave so I walked passed him.

“She said she’s not a coward!” He said it so loud there by making his friends to start laughing but I just didn’t care about them anymore. I just wanted to get it done with and return home.

“What are we drinking?” I asked with so much boldness and then he stretched his hand towards a table and then I almost screamed seeing bottles of alcohol on it.

I don’t drink alcohol but what did I expect?

“It’s going to be a truth or Dare game between the both of us only.” He said walking closer to me.

“What’s his aim?” I thought
“Deal!” I said and then all of them began to clap. Honestly I felt like just running away but if I do that, he’ll forever haunt me like a ghost. We got to the table and he asked me to start so he could be fair.

“Truth or Dare?” I asked him and then he was just smiling at me.

“Truth.” He said.

“Did you spike the bottles?”
He nods his head smiling and then I looked at his friends to confirm it.

“Now, it’s my turn!” He said and I took a step backward.

“Truth or Dare?”

“I can’t let this guy get whatever he wants from me and if I choose truth he’s going to ask me a question I might not want to answer and thereby I will end up drinking alcohol.” I thought within me
“Dare.” I said but almost like a whisper

He tightened his face while I smiled.

“I dare you to kiss me.”

QUESTION: Do you think she kissed him? If YES, why? and if NO, why?
