Who is Tony Tetuilla?
Tony Tetuilla is a veteran Nigerian singer who reigned in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is considered a colleague with the likes of Eedris Abdulkareem, Daddy Showkey, Sound Sultan, Rugged Man, among others.
Tony Tetuilla was popular for his hit song My Car, which was one of the reigning songs of that era.
His real name is Anthony Olanrewaju Awotoye, Nigerian Afrohiphop artist from Oro in Kwara state, Nigeria and he was born in the year 25th of August 1973. He studied Business Administration at Kwara State University prior to this, he attended St Anthony’s Secondary school, Ilorin
Tony Tetuila was a member of the now-defunct music group known as The Remedies and included Eedris Abdulkareem and Eddy Montana).
However, due to unknown reasons, Tony Tetuila left the group and went on to become successful as a solo artist.
Tony is best known for his hit song My Car; he is also considered the first Nigerian artiste to ever drop a diss track titled Omode Meta, which means Three Children and it was directed towards his former colleagues in the Remedies Group.
The Kwara born singer was linked to politics in 2014 when he contested for political office in the House of Assembly of Kwara State under the All Progressives Congress party APC, but he lost and claimed he was denied the political post.
Tony Tetuila reportedly sued Nigerian international singer Wizkid to a tune of 30 million naira. He claimed Wizzy had violated his copyrights in a song with Ghanaian singer Tic Tac titled Fefe N’efe.
He is married with three children, two boys and a girl.
