THE HISTORY OF LUUBAARA/ZAAKPON TOWN.

As told by ZI NA

WE STILL CELEBRATE OUR VISITATION TO OUR BROTHER COMMON ☺️

Three brothers after completing the traditional ritual visit to Nama were qualified to establish their own communities.

The eldest, Gbene Yaateegbooga, Gbene Korekina and the youngest Gbene Kote could no longer be part of Luuyor and Nyotem Zaakpon embarked on the journey to discover their own settlement and in agreement, they decided never to split.
Their first point of discovery was Zor now part of Sogho community, while considering the closeness to other communities and the scarcity of water, Gbene Yaateegbooga and Gbene Korekina, advised their youngest brother to tally there at Zor, while they go in search for better land. To this day, Gbene Koteh is still honoured during libation in Zor Sogho.

After traveling for days, they settled down briefly at Taabaah while still in search of water and space. Taabaah was too close to other communities and will not contain them, so they continued the search.

Finally they discovered an unexplored thick forest and sensed a river at some distance, they decided to settle there. Their first hut was erected at Bara and named part of it with their former home (Taabaah), while tacking the water to Boogo, Ka-mui, Mui-kab, Mui-Nwiikannale and Nwi-gbaramui. Remember where they migrated from, Luuyor in Zaakpon, they named their home Luu-baara (Lubara).
They went back to fetch their younger brother, since Gbene Yaateegbooga was very old and was very good in farming, he mounted the entrance gate to protect his younger brothers from any intruder. While Gbene Korekina was to be the custodian of the deity for security and settled in the middle of the town (Te-eeh) while he served Gbene-Yorkum (diety), Gbene Koteh was placed in charge of administration of Lunar and settled at Nyotem, named after their last home in Zaakpon.
These men were hospitable and peaceful.
