Sudan to be ruled by technocrats until election
A member of the ruling Sovereign Council in Sudan Gen. Ibrahim Jabir Ibrahim has announced that the military will establish a technocratic government to oversee the country’s affairs until elections are conducted.
He stated that Sudan would undergo a non-political transitional period, in which he outlined that the technocratic government’s role would be to administer Sudanese affairs and pave the way for democratic elections. Gen. Ibrahim emphasised that the armed forces would not engage in any agreements with politicians.
