Smiling Faces of Bayan – Cambodia :
Bayon a richly decorated Khmer temple related to Buddhism at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in late 12th or early 13th Century AD, as state temple of King Jayavarman VII (r. 1181-1218 AD). Bayon was last state temple to be built at Angkor and only Angkorian state temple to be built primarily to worship buddhist deities, though a great number of minor and local deities were also encompassed as representatives of various districts and cities of realm. Bayon stands at centre of Jayavarman’s capital, Angkor Thom.
