Samuel Onyishi is one of the richest Igbo men who made money through road transportation in Nigeria. He’s the founder and Chief Executive Officer of one of Nigeria’s most popular transport companies Peace Mass Transit Ltd, and the founder of one the best private university in west Africa,maduka University Agu-Ekwegbe in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Chief Samuel Maduka Onyishi was born on the 23rd of November 1963 in Nsukka, Enugu State. He lost his dad, who worked as a bricklayer early in 1977, which exposed him to severe hardship.

Chief Samuel did his primary education at Enugu Road primary school, Nsukka, from 1971 to 1976. He advanced to secondary school at Bubendorf Grammar School, Adazi, I. present day of Anambra State. But later, he switched to Community Secondary School, Mbu, in Iso-Uzo LGA of Enugu State after being withdrawn from his previous school due to financial reasons.

After being challenged to pursue a university education by one of his village men, he wrote his West African School Certificate exam. He later secured admission to a Diploma Program at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, between 1993 and 1996. Between 1996 and 1999, he graduated with a Second Class Upper in Social Work and Community Development. He later got an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning in the Doctoral Research Centre of the University of Arizona, Phoenix, United States.

He is currently married to his wife, Mrs Sam Onyishi, and their union is blessed with kids.
