President Yoweri Museveni received at his home the Commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti”, where they discussed developments in the situation in Sudan and efforts to stop the war.
According to what was published by the official page of the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation on the “X” platform, Museveni discussed with Hemedti efforts to stop the current war that has been ongoing in Sudan for 9 months between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.
Dagalo added, “President Museveni affirmed his full support for our people and work to advance efforts to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.”
He pointed out that he “will harness all his capabilities and relationships to help the Sudanese overcome this difficult stage in their history.”
He expressed his gratitude to President Museveni for the warm reception and hospitality. We also thank the Ugandan people for their solidarity and hosting large numbers of Sudanese who were forced by war to leave Sudan.
He concluded by saying, “We are still adhering to the outcomes of the IGAD Presidents’ Summit that was held in Djibouti, and we will continue to implement what we committed to in order to end the war, relieve the suffering of our people, and restore security and stability to our country.
