Nigerian Policemen Caught On Camera Soliciting Money From Dutch Woman Touring Africa By Road

Two personnel of the Nigerian Police Force have been caught on camera soliciting money from a lone Dutch woman touring African countries by road.

This exchange was captured in a viral video on X (formerly Twitter) showing the moment the policemen asked the tourist what she brought for them from her home country, the Netherlands, when she met them along the Moniya-Iseyin Road in Oyo State, southwest Nigeria.

The Dutch woman who told the police that she was heading to the Nigerian capital city, Abuja was surprised when the personnel were unwilling to let her go unless she gave them money.

“Wetin you bring come? Give me something. Wetin you wan give me? Give me money,” the two policemen were heard chorusing their demands to the tourist.

“The sad reality is, those recruited into the NPF are sourced from the Nigerian Population, not any other country. This means there is something very wrong with our society in general,” an X user, Akinwale commented on the incident.

“The first question that comes to mind is how these bunch made it through police college.

“See as English dey sound for their mouth like say dem dey chew stone.” another user BRAVO-ẸniỌban’kẹ́ added.

Reacting to this, the Oyo State Police Command via its verified X handle described the incident as regrettable, adding that all those involved has been arrested for possible disciplinary action.

The police command wrote: “The viral video portraying the regrettable misconduct of certain along Moniya-Iseyin road has been accessed. All those involved have been apprehended for immediate disciplinary actions. Supervision will be increased.”
