HRH. OBA (BARR.) SIKIRU ADEFUAPE OKURIBIDO BSC, LLB, BL, ACII, FCII, MBA, JOURNEYS TO CORONATION
‘The journey of a thousand miles starts on a day with one step’.
The Traditional journey to the Coronation of the new Dagburewe of Idowa, HRH. Oba (Barr.) Sikiru Kayode Adefuape Okuribido, Bsc, LLB, BL, ACII, FCII, MBA, to the ILETE commenced on Friday 9th February, 2024 when seven days Traditional rites were performed by Ogbeni Odi (Gbẹdẹ) of Awujale on behalf of HRM. Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ọ̀gbágbá II, Awujale of Ijebuland.
The successful commencement of the rites was attended by quite a number of dignitaries from Idowa and the environs to witness the event and rejoice with the new Dagburewe of Idowa.
The notable amongst them but not limited were:
Olori and the children of Kábíyèsí; Family Members from both Paternal and Maternal divides; Alhaji Abdul Bari Adeola Onatola; Hon. Bola Lawson from Imodi-Ijasi; Chief Balogun Jimoh, Baale of Odo-Onora; Chief Osonaike Joseph; Oloja Imoro of Imoro, High Chief Matanmi; The Ẹbi Itun Nla of Iloye Quarters; Traditionalists in Idowa; Imams-in-Council of Idowa; Idowa Youths; Barr. Yomi Sewonku; Dr. Richy; Pastor Abidemi Adekoya; Mr. Lola Koya; Hon Wasiu Alausa; Mr. Arowosegbe Ogunyemi (AroCool); Mr. Biko; etc.
After the Traditional rites have been completed for the day, the personalities came one after the other and in groups to offer prayers for the new Dagburewe.
The people were treated to “Ikokore” the major relish food in Ijebuland.
