GOV. DIRI SIGNS MEDICAL RESIDENCY TRAINING BILL 2024 INTO LAW
… APPRECIATES LAWMAKERS, UNIONS FOR PASSAGE
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today signed the Medical Residency Training Bill 2024 into Law.
The signing took place at the Governor’s office, in Government House, Yenagoa in the presence of the Leader of the State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Monday Obolo Bubou, who represented the Speaker.
Governor Diri in his remark, appreciated the leadership of the House for expeditiously giving attention to the Bill.
“And today, we have put pen to paper and it is now a law on the Medical Residency Training Bill 2024.
So, I like to appreciate the unions because as unions, if you had come here to ask for something for your pockets, this wouldn’t have happened. As unions, you came here to ask for things that will enhance the status of the resident doctors and indeed, the whole society to benefit from it that’s why today we have been able to sort this out and I am sure, Bayelsa will be among the very few states that would have sign this first to law”, Governor Diri stated.
