Egypt FA announce Salah departure to Liverpool for rehabilitation
Salah sustained a hamstring injury during Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana in a Nations Cup Group stage game on Thursday, and Egypt’s doctor had said that the Liverpool star needs approximately one week of treatment.
“After further examinations and discussions between the medical staff and its counterpart at Liverpool, it was decided that the player will return to England after Cape Verde’s game today to complete his rehabilitation,” read a statement on the (EFA) Facebook account.
The EFA added that Salah would return to join the team if it qualifies to the semi-finals.
