December 11-12th, 1990 – The murders of the Northern Epirus 4.

Four young Greeks from the Northern Epirote village of Alykos – Thymios Masios, Vangelis Mitros, Thanasis Kotsis, Aidonis Raftis – set off in the morning from their village, towards the Greek border, looking to cross and escape the prejudice and persecution of the racist Albanian pseudo state.

They would never reach their destination, as all 4 were gunned down and murdered by Albanian forces.

Thousands of Greeks from all over the neighbouring villages and towns of Northern Epirus, united against the Albanian authorities, condemning the murders and demanding the fall of the Communist regime.

The Northern Epirotes very nearly succeeded in overthrowing the tyrannical rule of Tirana and their Government structures in Northern Epirus, after the cowardly cold-blooded murders. And with proper Greek Government assistance, they would have.

The Greek Government then, like today, did nothing and continues to do nothing, for the Greeks of Northern Epirus.
