WE BOTH DIED AT THE END
CHAPTER 9 (THE SECRET)
I must find out her secrets, that is if there’s any. Because I’m beginning to think of something strange.
One peaceful night, I pretended to be sleeping for a while and then Suzan stood up, took her side bag and then she gently opened the door and then she left.
Wow! So this is how she normally go out while I am deep asleep? Well, I quickly arranged myself and followed behind her.
Suzan walked gently while pressing her phone at the same time. She then stopped at the turn to the big hostel the school built newly. Her phone rang and then she picked the call.
I couldn’t hear what she was saying but her body gestures showed that she was in for a secret move but I was calm and quiet and I was almost not breathing because I don’t want her to have any idea that I was behind her.
She finished the call and then she stood there, looking sideways but I remained in my position. Two guys suddenly showed up, they were different from the ones I saw the last time.
They came with a black leather bag. The leather bag looks heavy and then they gave it to her. She collected it and gave them something back. I was behind them so I couldn’t really see everything.
She hugged both of them and then they left. She looked sideways again and then began to walk upwards. I followed her gently for a very long distance and then I had to stop because I noticed there was a little gathering up ahead.
Since Suzan didn’t stop walking, I continued to follow her. While I got closer, I realized that the gathering had a little fire burning at their middle. From what I could see the gathering consisted of both guys and girls and a very old man.
Suzan stopped walking a little distance from the gathering while two ladies came towards her and searched her before allowing her to join the others.
I felt confused. What secret is God trying to show me? Why is Suzan here? Like why did she walk down here? What are they all doing? Oh my God! Are they practicing occultism? I kept asking myself a lot of questions but I kept getting confused.
I saw a building a little further ahead. I quickly but gently walked towards the building so that I could hide there while watching their activities at the same time.
After a little while, I saw that all of them had black leather bags with them and it sure contained something that keeps dripping liquid.
What could that be? The old man stood in the middle of the circle that was formed by the guys and ladies. He was talking to them but with a calm voice. He wasn’t loud enough for me to hear but they were all quiet and were listening to him.
He then brought out a staff but something was off. I didn’t see him bending down to pick the staff. I didn’t see anyone given him the staff and I also knew that the staff wasn’t with him from the beginning.
So, how did he get the staff? WTF? did the staff appeared? What am I witnessing?
After a while, he beckoned on them and then they all walked towards him one after the other while dropping their leather bags at his feet.
Suzan was the last to drop her own but while she was about to drop it, the content of the leather back fell on the ground and then what I saw made all the veins in body to come out thick and strong. I almost swallowed my tongue.
Like what the fuck was that??
