IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL CENTRAL ZONE INAUGURATES 56th BORO DAY COMMITTEE.
The Ijaw Youth Council Central Zone inaugurates the 56th Boro Day Committee, comprising prominent individuals committed to celebrating the legacy of Ijaw hero, Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro.
This year, the committee will be helmed by Honourable Deacon Igali Robert as Chairman, with Comrade Amiebi Turner as Secretary and Comrade Iko Williams Ginah as Spokesman among others.
The theme for the 56th Boro Day commemoration is “Honoring Our Past and Embracing Our Future.”
This symbolic motif encourages members of the Ijaw nation to reflect on the sacrifices and achievements of Major Adaka Boro while also ensuring a prosperous future for the region.
In view of the upcoming Boro Day, the newly constituted committee will dedicate itself to coordinating activities to preserve Boro’s memory, promote peace, and champion development within the Ijaw Nation. The objective is to honor Boro’s fight for justice, equality, and self-determination, while paving the way for a prosperous and progressive future for the Ijaw people.
The Ijaw Youth Council Central Zone calls upon all Ijaw youths, leaders, and well-meaning individuals to join hands and actively participate in the 56th Boro Day activities. The committee aims to host a series of events, including lectures, symposiums, cultural displays, and community projects, to commemorate Boro’s legacy and keep his spirit alive.
With the theme, “Honoring Our Past and Embracing Our Future,” the 56th Boro Day is set to inspire the Ijaw community to continue the struggle for justice and development while safeguarding the rich heritage handed down by our heros.
