Heads Will Roll: 140 Officials Gear Up for Ministerial Assessment

Heads Will Roll: 140 Officials Gear Up for Ministerial Assessment.

Ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s first ministerial performance review, 140 officials from across 35 government agencies are preparing to assess the performance of ministers and agency heads. These officers, drawn from each ministry’s delivery desk and planning department, will track progress on critical priorities, identify challenges, and report their findings to the central delivery unit.

The assessment, scheduled for the end of this month, carries significant weight. As Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, Mrs. Hadiza Bala-Usman has warned that underperforming ministers face the possibility of dismissal. “The President is very serious about his promises,” she emphasised. “Ministers will be assessed, and ministers will be dropped if they don’t perform.”

This rigorous evaluation process underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to delivering on his promises and improving the lives of Nigerians. The 140 officials, acting as the engine room of the assessment, will play a crucial role in ensuring accountability and driving performance across government agencies.
