February 20th, 1822 – The Naval Battle of Patra.

The Greek fleet, numbering 64 vessels and led by Andreas Miaoulis, attacked the joint Turkish-Egyptian fleet in an effort to remove them from having control of Patra and the surrounding region.

After a 6 hour battle, the Turk-Egyptians were overwhelmed and after several casualties including men and ships, they flee Patra and to the safety of what was then British occupied Zakynthos.
