Immediately Magu was fired, war against corruption under FPMB ended.
CBN became so reckless in corruption and everybody was having a free day.
Malami knew why he did all within his power to sack that Borno man of valour and a true patriot. Nothing was found against him. Malami later said that he had to go due to insubordination. That, and disobeying the Supreme Court injunction on naira notes, were two actions FPMB took that I still don’t know why he took those decisions.
Magu was in charge and every national thief knew.
Bawa was brought in as his replacement and despite the fact that some folks in Kebbi state celebrated his return home, that boy is one of the reasons I laugh when people advocate for youth in government. His own kind of corruption was youthfully legendary.
It was a case of asking a cat to watch over well fried and adequately seasoned meat.
In summary, Malami said that Buhari’s signature was forged at CBN to loot millions of dollars in the name of paying foreign election observers and now Buhari wrote the AGF that he never approve that Malami and the ministers of power and water resources to conclude any agreement with Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Ltd over the Mambila Power Project.
It was inherited but Buhari said that he never gave approval for the $200m settlement and now the man behind the company, Leno Adesanya has been declared wanted by EFCC but Sunrise has also taken the Nigerian government to court of arbitration in Paris for breach of contract.
The report and the White Paper of the presidential panel that was put in place to investigate Magu was not made public till May 29, 2023 that Buhari and Malami left office but what can not be hidden is that after his sack, corruption took over.
My joy however is that Magu isn’t an Ekiti man, otherwise, little minds would have lamely and lazily tag me a tribalist like themselves. Ibrahim Mustafa Magu is a Northerner just like those who victimized him.
