April 10th, 1821 – Psara joins the Revolution of 1821.
The island of Psara becomes one of the first islands to join in the Greek Revolution of 1821.
It would go on to produce the notable revolutionaries, Konstantis Nikodimos, Ioannis Varvakis, Nikolis Apostolis, Dimitrios Papanikolis and Konstantinos Kanaris. Distinguishing themselves as Greek Naval leaders, their many ships helped to combat and eventually defeat the Turks.
