THE JOURNEY OF THE LONE SNAIL
(Part one)

In the heart of the African night so still,
Where the moon casts shadows on the hill,
Lived a snail, wise and old, in its humble shell,
A home so simple, where all was well.

But the whispering winds of destiny's call,
Urged the snail to venture, beyond its wall.
With little but courage and dreams so wide,
It left its comfort, the earth as guide.

Through the lush green and the tangled vine,
The snail moved slow, but its spirit shined.
Until the ground trembled, a rhythm of fear,
Soldier ants in millions, their march so near.

A tide of terror, relentless and grand,
They plundered the forest, left nothing to stand.
But the snail, with wisdom deep as the night,
Dug down to safety, hidden from sight.

Its mouth sealed tight, with nature’s glue,
The soil embraced it, the storm passed through.
The ants, those devils of the forest floor,
Rushed on by, seeking more.

And when silence returned, the snail emerged,
Its spirit untouched, though the world had surged.
For in the depths of its ancient heart,
It knew that wisdom is life’s greatest art.

With little in hand but a mind so keen,
The snail had ventured, had faced the unseen.
And though the world was vast and wild,
The snail moved on, both wise and mild.

For sometimes the smallest, with wisdom as shield,
Can conquer the fiercest and never yield.
The snail's journey, a tale to tell,
Of courage, survival, and living well.

To be continued.
