Chapter 30

The guy took hold of the girl he was with and then they went out of the restaurant while I stood there looking at Eric and he was also looking at me.

I felt disappointed at him for not showing up in my worst moments in school but didn't have the strength to speak out.

I met my girls and told suggested that we should just package the food and go back to the hostel (to which they agreed)

"Gina, please wait!" Eric called out as we were about to leave and then I stood looking at him but wasn't expecting anything.

"I know you have a lot of questions and a lot of worries but trust me, I didn't forget you or rather should I say I didn't forsake you"

"Then what happened?" I asked

"It is complicated but you will get to see it very soon and maybe you will understand better but for now please forgive me and I promise to be by you from henceforth biko🙏"

He turned and was urging my girls to talk to me and then they both came and hugged me while whispering to my ears.

"Babe, we know say you love this guy, so stop the shakara and just accept him apology abeg" Philomina said and that made me smile

"So, na the way una go use beg me be that?" I asked sarcastically

"Wetin you want make we talk? When we fully know say you wan whine the boy" Jessica whispered to my ears

I went over to him and hugged him so tight (he did the same) and then he took me by the hand and made me sit on one of the chairs.

And so, they both decided to exit the place leaving I and Eric alone.

I woke up from sleep that early morning while having the thought of the meeting which was to be held the next day.

My parents were to be around, the school management, myself, the useless lecturer, the three boys and (wait a minute!) It has been long I spoke with this useless conscience of mine. Where did she go to sef?

A lot had happened to me but she was just quiet and I don't even know why. This is the moment she should have been more important because right then, I didn't even know what to do or say in the meeting. It will be a very long meeting for me though.

My phone rang

"Hello! I'm I on to Gina?" The distorted voice asked

"Yes, and who am I speaking to?" I asked not sure of the person

"Well, this is your beloved boyfriend and I'm calling to check up on you"

"Eric, you are not serious" I smiled

"In what way am I not serious?" He asked

",just forget! What's up?" I asked

"Nothing o just a thinking about your meeting tomorrow because a lot is gonna happen" He said

"What do you mean by a lot is gonna happen?" I asked

"Don't worry yourself dear. I got you. I'm your man and so I must defend you in the presence of the whole world" Eric said

"Awwwn... That was sweet!"

"You deserve more baby! I just want you to relax and enjoy your day. We won't be meeting today because I have a lot to do. So, help me take care of yourself please"

"I will babe. I promise and I love you so much!"

"I love you more Mrs. Gina Eric" he laughed and ended the call

I sat on the bed, blushing like an idiot.

Through out the day, I got calls from my parents and then a text reminder from the school admin and everything was about the meeting.

Eric said I shouldn't worry, should I trust him? If I don't who would I trust at this moment? Even my conscience have disappeared and I know she knows that tomorrow is the meeting day.

My friends came back from wherever they went with goodies (a lot of packages).

If you have girlfriends as good a friend as Philomina and Jessica, then you will never worry about a thing in your life.

We shouted, and jumped and danced and played and gisted and ate and drank. We made sure we made use of the whole day to just enjoy and flex ourselves in the hostel. It was as if some massive people are hosting a party but it was just the three of us.

Night came and then it was time to sleep. I prayed and then went to sleep with the thought of TOMORROW in my mind.
