Chapter 28

"Oh my God! What do we do now?" Jessica asked but couldn't get a word from Philomina or I.

We became dumbfounded. Tears began to role down our cheeks. I looked at them and that was when I realized that they are truly my friends. They are in tears with me.

The video kept repeating and I kept watching it.

"I am doomed!" I uttered

Philomina hugged me and then Jessica joined. We talked to each other and then they told me to make sure I don't allow it to enter my mind.

"This is trouble because very soon the school board would call you out and that is a very big case" Philomina said

"Let's just see how it goes. We can never say never" Jessica replied

My phone began to ring and of cause, it was the useless lecturer. I never wanted to answer the call but Jessica urged me to and so I did.

"Hope you've seen my reply to your stupidity? Next time don't step on my toes. Any ways, if you agree to give me what I want without pulling off some dirty tricks, then I will cancel out everything about the video"

I ended the call before he did and that got all of us angry.

"Can you imagine the audacity of his?" Jessica asked furiously

Chats upon chats kept coming from the group chat. People began to call and call to ask about the issue and then finally we decided to switch off our phones. It was a real mess.

"What is it that I have done to deserve all these ill treatment from this lecturer?" I asked myself inwardly and then I decided to switch on my phone.

Immediately it came on, my phone rang and then it was my father.

I picked the call and a whole lot was said. My father couldn't believe the video and was thinking it was fabricated using a deep fake graphics. I had to tell him it was a rape and it happened.

"But the video wasn't shot from an angle that suggest rape... Instead the video is suggesting that it was a public sex happening" my father explained and it was then I realized that every body that must have come across the video would have thought about it that way.

He calmed me down and said the school authorities asked him to be in school for a meeting the following week but I was suspended from entering classes.

Something came to my mind...
"Why isn't Eric calling? Does that mean he has not seen the video yet? But that is impossible"

"Babe, Eric don call you?" Jessica asked and then I turned and looked at her

"I was just thinking about him before you asked. He hasn't called yet" I replied

"Maybe he has not seen it" Philomina said

"You know that is impossible right?" Jessica said

And then a text message came into my phone from the Admin office.

"Good day Miss Gina,

Blah blah blah blah (and then it ended with) you are invited to the meeting next week. He date would be communicated to you.

Immediately, I felt as if I was stabbed in my heart.
