AWAKENING THE GIANT 2

According to the Zaria Chronicle which appears to have impressed not a few scholars, sometime in 1050 the Habe Kingdom (pre- Islamic name for the Hausa Kingdom) thrived at Daura, followed by the formation of the other six kingdoms — • Kano, Gobir, Katsina, Zaria, Biram and Rano — together comprising the Hausa Seven or Hausa Bokwoi. Daura was the center or heart of the Kingdom, but eventually the rest branched out as independent states. Though independent, they effectively fought together to ward off the enemy. But consequent upon internecine wars among them, their effectiveness in defense of the common interest was lessened. Naturally such a state of affairs among a heterogeneous stock caused progress in a backward instead of a forward direction, and paved the way for their annihilation by the Fulani warriors.

The precise date of the Fulani appearance on the Nigerian scene is uncertain, but it would appear that they entered Northern Nigeria in small packets. One of the important groups appears to have come from the direction of Melli and got itself established in Sokoto, while others, it would seem, settled in Bornu, Adama wa and ïlausa. By the 14th century, the Fulani chiefs, already versed in the art of “stooping to conquer” had secured important administrative offices at Zaria and other states long before the Jihad.
Emerging from one of the groups — the Toronkawa group — was a man born about 1744 A. D. in the country then called Gobir and who grew up, not only as a spiritual force, but also as a man on whom destiny, like Moses of the Hebrew fame, placed the burden of leading his people to the * promised land. That man was none other than the Shehu Usuman Dan Fodio. It was he who won the *rich Hausa land* for the Fulani race and thereby established the Fulani hegemony over Northern Nigeria. 😂 🤣

Copied from NWABARA, N. S. The Fulani Conquest and Rule of the Hausa Kingdom of Northern Nigeria (1804-1900).

Did you read to the end of the article? This was the scam that your unlettered, traditionalist, fetish, ignorant, ancestors detected and laid their life down to defend Yorùbáland against its incursion. If not for the rift between Afonja and Aláàfin, not even Ilorin would be under any usurper. This is what you should bear in your mind always. You may practice the same religion, never let your homeland be subsumed under usurper in power in the north.
