His Early Life.
Mustapha Bakare Otolo, popularly known as Baba Otolo, is a celebrated Nollywood actor with a rich history in Nigerian entertainment. Born on October 24, 1957, in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, he began his educational journey at Baptist Grammar School in 1962 and later attended Ogbomosho High School from 1969 to 1974.
Before his acting career took off, Baba Otolo joined the IK Dairo Musical Band in 1975, where he served as one of the band's drummers. His passion for education led him to further his studies at Lagos State Polytechnic (now known as LASPOTECH) in 1982.
His acting Career.
Baba Otolo’s foray into acting saw him feature in various notable films such as "Aropinteniyan," "Jaiye Simi," and "Aye," which was directed by the renowned theater pioneer Sir Hubert Ogunde. In 1989, he produced his first television series, "Igba Nla," marking the beginning of an illustrious career in film production. Over the years, he has produced over 60 movies, including popular movies like "Adigun Danger," "Danfo Driver," "O Dayan Mo," "Arigbabuwo," "Okada Man," "Ere Aigboran," "Omo Town," "Ise Oru," "Omoge Yahooze," "Mojere," "Bus Conductor," and many more.
He has acted alongside many Legends like Baba suwe (his friend), Pari olodo, and other comic actors.
Unknown to many, Baba Otolo started his acting career by playing the role of a Herbalist as is evident in the earliest movies where he was featured. “Gbewonrin “, a movie that featured Baba suwe and Opebe is a typical example of such earlier movies.
Personal Life
In his personal life, Baba Otolo is married to Kehinde Bakare Aduni, and they are blessed with five children: Wasiu, Shina, Abass, Adams, and Zainab.
