Obafemi Lasode (born December 4, 1955) is a distinguished Nigerian musician, film director, producer, songwriter, music producer, and playwright. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Even-Ezra Nigeria Limited, the production house behind the award-winning movie Sango in 1997.

Early Life
Obafemi Bandele Lasode was born on December 4, 1955, in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria, but he hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria. He attended St. Gregory's College in Obalende, Lagos State, where he earned his West African Senior School Certificate. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Kogod School of Business, Washington, D.C., and subsequently obtained a Master of Science degree in Communication Arts from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.

Career
Lasode began his career in 1983 as a Promotions Coordinator with Inner City Broadcasting Corporation in New York City, where he hosted Sonny Okosuns at the renowned Apollo Theater in Harlem in 1984. He produced the African music program Afrika in Vogue on Radio Nigeria 2, which aired throughout 1989. In 1995, he founded Afrika 'n Vogue/Even-Ezra Studios.

In 1997, Lasode produced and directed the acclaimed African epic Sango, a film that was chosen to open the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Film Festival in 2002. He is also the author of Television Broadcasting: The Nigerian Experience (1959–1992), a textbook used in Nigerian universities.
